Figures just released by the Central Statistics Office (CSO) show that the current unemployment rate in Ireland is at its lowers since the Autumn of 2008.
According to the figures, the unemployment rate in May 2016 stands at 7.8%, down from 7.9% in the previous month. These figures represent a drop of nearly 2% on the 9.6% rate a year ago.
There are now 169,700 people officially listed as unemployed, compared to 208,000 in May of 2015.
