It emerged yesterday that TDs are doing a Pavlov’s dog at the prospect of spending three months away from their duties.
If the proposals were passed, TDs would nip out of the Dáil on July 7 and return at some stage in late September.
The extended break would be so in order to accommodate renovation works at the Dáil.
Today, Sinn Fein’s Deputy Leader Mary Lou McDonald has referred to the proposed three-month long break as ‘unjustifiable’ and ‘nuts,’ adding that she will challenge any proposal to elongate TDs holidays.
