Grim news for budget airline Ryanair today, as 900 jobs might go before the end of this year.
The announcement came after Ryanair posted a 21% reduction in profits. Overcapacity, and the delay in the delivery of the troubled Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, have also been quoted as contributing factors for the move.
Staff were informed of the development via a video distributed internally at the airline.
Further details about redundancies will be announced in due course, with the job losses expected to occur towards the latter part of the year.
