
One man is still missing after another was rescued following the sinking of a trawler off the coast of Skerries, County Dublin this afternoon.
The incident happened around 1pm and both the Irish Coast and Air Corps have been involved in rescue efforts.
According to RTE, a major search is ongoing with the Defence Forces telling them:
“The large-scale search operation currently involves numerous vessels including the LÉ Niamh, RNLI lifeboats, numerous local vessels and the Research Vessel KEARY, which is conducting a sonar survey of the search area,”
The Air Corps airplane “has a range of search equipment on board, including forward looking infrared, and a high powered camera system”.
