The US singer Demi Lovato is reportedly awake after being admitted into hospital following a suspected heroin overdose.
Lovato who who is surrounded by family was admitted to hospital on Tuesday afternoon after she was found unconscious at her home.
According to the entertainment website TMZ, Lovato was treated with Narcan following suspected narcotics abuse.
Although initial reports did not confirm the star’s condition, a representative of for Ms Lovato has since issued a statement clarifying her condition.
In the brief statement released to Variety, Ms Lovato’s spokesperson said the following: “Demi is awake and with her family who want to express thanks to everyone for the love, prayers, and support.”
“Some of the information being reported is incorrect and they respectfully ask for privacy and not speculation as her health and recovery is the most important thing right now.”
