Uproar as significant petrol/diesel hike to be blamed on Saudi oil drone strike

There’s been absolute uproar online after it emerged that petrol and diesel prices are set to take what has been described by experts as a “significant hike” due to last weekend’s drone strike on Saudi oil reserves.

It’s understood that over the coming weeks, prices will creep up after oil costs rose on the back of the attacks on two Saudi oil processing plants that happened on Saturday.

The drone strikes took place at the national energy giant Aramco’s Abqaiq processing plant and Khurais oil field and took out 5.7 million barrels per day of production. This totals more than half of the OPEC kingpin’s output.

The drone attacks halved the output in the world’s top crude oil exporter which experts say will be seen at petrol stations over the coming weeks.

Social media users are claiming that both the government and petrol stations will use the drone strike as an excuse to hike up prices.
