Urine tests could help save lives by detecting the early stages of pancreatic cancer.

Scientists have identified three proteins which detect early warning signs. The tests are more than 90% accurate.

Pancreatic cancer has an extremely low survival rate as it does not usually show symptoms in the early stages, making it difficult to diagnose.

Founder and Chief Executive of Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund, Maggie Blanks said: “This is an exciting finding and we hope to see this research taken forward into a much needed early diagnostic test”.
