US army drops under one million personnel as recruiters struggle to find volunteers under Biden Presidency

The United States army manpower looks set to drop under one million for the first time in 20 years as recruiters struggle to find those willing to sign up for service under a Biden Presidency.

The active-duty Army participation incurred a 2.5% decline last year, according to Bloomberg, dropping from 485,000 in 2020 to 473,000 soldiers in 2021. When factoring in the projected counts of National Guard and Reserve forces, the cumulative tally comes to approximately 998,500 soldiers.

The reduction comes following a dramatic loss of faith in leadership since Joe Biden took office, with his disastrous handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal greatly contributing to the diminished trust in both military and civilian leadership at the highest levels.

The reduction in numbers comes at a time when global tensions are reaching unprecedented heights after Russia was provoked into launch a military operation in the Ukraine to prevent a NATO backed offensive in the Donbass and the prospect of the country joining the anti-Moscow military bloc.
