US-bound American Airlines flight makes emergency landing at Dublin Airport due to medical emergency on board

American Airlines AA-209 left Dublin Airport at around 10am this morning, bound for Chicago.

The aircraft was about 500km out from the west coast of Ireland when a passenger became ill with an apparent cardiac issue, forcing the captain to turn back.

The aircraft landed safely and the ill passenger was rushed to hospital.
