Gardaí in Dublin have confirmed that they are now treating the death of Amanda Carroll as a murder investigation.
In an announcement made this evening Gardaí confirmed that the investigation has been now upgraded given the circumstances surrounding her death.
Ms Carroll was sadly found dead at an apartment in Homestead Court in Cabra, on Sunday afternoon.
Gardaí say they believe the 33-year-old mother of two was the victim of a violent assault.
Officers investigating the case say they have arrested a 35-year-old man in connection with the incident, he is currently being detained at Mountjoy Garda Station.
