A special branch of the US Government has launched a cyber-attack on Iranian assets, in retaliation for the recent downing of an unarmed US-operated drone.
The US Cyber Command attacked a known Iranian spy group with suspected ties to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran’s main asset to maintain national security.
The cyber strike follows a last-minute climb down on planned airstrikes on Friday, which if carried out could have had a disastrous effect on the already precarious geopolitical situation in the Middle East.
