The US Centers of Disease Control and Prevention have announced that fully vaccinated people can meet other vaccinated people without masks.
In an announcement the CDC said that people can meet with others who have also been vaccinated two weeks after they have received their second jab.
However vaccinated people are being urged to follow public health guidelines such as mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing whilst out in public.
They are also advised to avoid large crowds and travel.
Under the new guidelines people will be able to
- Meet indoors with other fully vaccinated people without masks or social distancing
- Meet indoors with unvaccinated people from a single household, if they are at low risk for severe illness from the virus
- Skip testing or quarantine when exposed to Covid-19, unless symptoms appear
The news comes as 30 million people in the US have been fully vaccinated.
