US President Joe Biden is scheduled to visit the UK in June as part of his first Presidential trip abroad.
According to Jen Psaki, the White House’s Press Secretary, the trip ‘will highlight his commitment to restoring our alliances, revitalising the trans-Atlantic relationship, and working in close cooperation with our allies.’
The UK is likely to welcome the US President this time around, which starkly contrasts with former President Trump’s visit to the UK in 2019. Then, Mr. Trump was met with large-scale protests against his mere presence on British soil, and a couple of supermarkets sold toilet rolls with the face of the now disgraced President printed on them.
