The United States is to provide massive amounts of ammunition to Ukraine following reports that its military doesn’t have enough stock left to eliminate all the Russian troops still crawling around the country.
The latest aid package, worth around $400m, will include large amounts of HIMARS rockets and 25 mm rounds, TOW anti-tank missiles, and 7.62 mm rounds to feed the armament of Bradley Fighting Vehicles.
The United States will also supply mobile pontoon systems to enable Ukrainian troops to easily traverse bodies of water.
All this comes in preparation for an expected spring offensive that will leverage newly formed armored units to punch a hole through a narrow front in southern sectors, with the overarching goal of isolating the Crimean Peninsula from the rest of the country.
