The White House have confirmed that US Vice-president Mike Pence will visit Ireland on September 6th.
It is understood that the visit will come after Pence will visit the UK on September 4th and 5th.
The White House say Pence will meet the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar in Dublin and will hold discussions about strengthening ties between the two nations.
It is also understood that the pair will discuss the importance of the Good Friday Agreement.
