Social media has been awash with petrol pump prices over the past week with people telling each other where the cheapest fuel in their area was.
The Government appears to be having a laugh at the moment, as prices at the pumps remain largely the same despite a purported ‘cut’ in excise duty two months ago.
The price of a litre of unleaded remains around €2.11 this morning. It’s clear that basically nothing has changed.
Many people say it’s just a token gesture from the government and that it’s absolute rubbish. They’re saying that the need to cut VAT along with other tax on the excise duty.
