Varadkar: “I would love to lead the Fine Gael party”




The current Minister for Social Protection Leo Varadkar has revealed he would jump at the channce to lead the Fine Gael party.

Although Mr Varadkar did state that the top job is not available at the moment even though current leader Enda Kenny has come under scrutiny for reappointing former Health Minister James Reilly as his deputy leader.

Mr Varadkar made his comments whilst speaking to KFM, Mr Varadkar said: “I have thought about it. I’d love to lead my party in the future, but that’s something you have to consider at the appropriate time when a vacancy arises.”

“I’d have to assess the level of support I might have and see if people would buy into my vision of how the party might change and how the country might change.”
