Varadkar says he has full confidence in the Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy despite rise in homeless figures

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that he has full confidence in the Minister for Housing Eoghan Murphy.

According to RTÉ News, Mr Varadkar who was speaking in Cork said that he fully supports Mr Murphy in his role despite the rising figures in regards to the homeless crisis.

Mr Varadkar said that the current crisis is not down to Mr Murphy and he has done his job to the best of his abilities despite inheriting a difficult portfolio.

The Taoiseach also claimed the current crisis was a highly difficult task and the Government didn’t create the crisis but it was created by other people before they took office.

Mr Varadkar’s comments come as there are now 10,305 people living in emergency accommodation across the country.
