Varadkar: The booster numbers are low because there’s been double appointments

The Tanaiste Leo Varadkar has said that booster numbers may be considerably lower than expected because there’s been double up appointments, some appointments for people who are not eligible to currently get a booster and other such system errors.

People who are not eligible to get a booster at the moment are those who have had covid over the past 6 months.

Meanwhile, the Taoiseach said that there had been over 200,000 no shows of people not turning up to get their booster vaccine.

The HSE has acknowledged that they do have to more to get their systems improved.

Martin claims that people should take the booster to offset a wave of the Omicron variant in Ireland, however the poor attendance would indicate that people are not interested in getting the booster.
