Varadkar: The lockdown restrictions have been extended for three weeks until May 5th

In breaking news this afternoon, the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar referenced the suffering that Jesus went through on Good Friday and said that better days will come.

He thanked the people of Ireland for all that they’ve done so far but said that we need to do more to help the health workers.

Varadkar said that because of the measures, we have slowed the spread of the virus considerably but unfortunately we have not stopped its spread. He said that we cannot be complacent.

The restrictions will be extended for a further three weeks until Tuesday May 5th.

No one knows for certain when normality will happen again or how our lives will be the same or different.

He said that your help will save lives. Think about each other before we think about ourselves, nothing great can be asked from us.
