Varadkar: “There is a world of difference between saying there’s good people in Sinn Fein and going into government with them”

The Taoiseach Leo Varadkar was interviewed on Virgin Media by Collete Fitzpatrick who questioned him on a potential coalition partnership with Sinn Fein.

Varadkar was very quick to stamp out any suggestion that Fine Gael would enter into any government formation with Sinn Fein.

Fitzpatrick pushed the Taoiseach and whether he thought Sinn Fein had any good people in it, to which he said that there were, for instance Michelle O’Neill.

He rebuked the fact that some Fine Gael TDs have stated that they could indeed work with Sinn Fein and they had friends in the party.

Varadkar said that there was a world of difference between saying that there were good people in the party and entering into a coalition partnership with them – something he vehemently said would ever happen.
