A top German lung doctor has come out in public and given startling statistics. Dr Thomas Voshaar, head doctor at a German lung hospital said a survey of leading medics had found many of the sickest patients had “communications barriers” from an “immigrant background” reports the Dailymail.
Dr Voshaar said government warnings about the dangers of of the virus were “simply not getting through” to migrant communities.
Lothar Wieler, head of Germany’s top disease institute described Dr Voshaars survey findings as “taboo.”
Mr Wieler went on to explain that the number of muslims in intensive care was “clearly above 50%” even though they make up around 5% of Germany’s 83 million citizens.
The doctors announcement has prompted commentators to speculate that the German government is turning a blind eye to the issue for fear of a race row.
