A status yellow rain warning has been issued on Sunday evening for Cork and Waterford, reports Breaking News.
Spot flooding is predicted by Met Éireann as a result of strong and continuous rain.
For Cork, the warning is in effect from 5 p.m. to 11p.m.
The alert for Waterford begins at 6 p.m. tomorrow and runs through 2 a.m. on Monday.
On Saturday, there will be periods of sunshine and showers, with the most rain falling in Ulster, reports Breaking News.
By mid-afternoon, the most of the land will be dry, with just sporadic showers coming later. For the most part clear and dry tonight. A mild to fresh breeze from the west to northwest is accompanied with highs between 9 and 13 degrees.
The weather on Sunday will be mostly dry with hazy bright intervals.
But clouds will progressively get thicker, and drizzle and sporadic downpours will start to form. In the evening, southern counties will see spot flooding due to heavy, continuous rain, reports Breaking News.
Maximum temperatures range from 7 to 10 degrees in the north and 10 to 14 degrees in the south, with light to moderate southeasterly winds.
Overall, according to Met Éireann, the forecast calls for a variety of weather that will eventually get milder.
Early on Monday morning, the rest of the rain in the east will dissipate, and the sky will be mixed with clouds, sunny patches, and sporadic showers. The southwest has the mildest temperatures, ranging from 11 to 16 degrees, while the majority of the breezes are from the south, reports Breaking News.
