There are some tragic news this evening, as the young man assaulted outside a nightclub in Swords, Dublin, last Sunday morning has passed away in hospital.
The motive for the attack remains unclear. The man was known to Gardai, and had been sentenced for his role in a robbery back in 2002.
A man in his early 30s was arrested in connection with the fatal assault, and is currently being held at Swords Garda Station.
