In an emotional farewell last night upon his retirement at the end of Euro 2016, Johnny Giles said:
“They say when you’re enjoying yourself the time flies, and the time has definitely flown. It’s taken 30 years for RTÉ to find me out.”
Followed quickly by Liam Brady praising the legend’s integrity and Eamon Dunphy saying:
“Brave. Courageous. Foresight. That guy is the greatest football man we’ve ever had. I’ll be tuning in, I’ll be buying The Herald… Soccer’s man.”
