The vote to replace the TDs elected last May in the European Parliament will take place in the electoral districts of Cork North Central, Dublin Fingal, Wexford and Dublin Mid-West.
Polls are open for 15 hours from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
43 candidates appear in the four constituencies.
Counting starts tomorrow morning with mixed predictions as to what the turnout will be.
