Warm days ahead: Ireland set to see temperatures reaching 21C as Indian summer is expected to arrive this week

Ireland will be treated to a welcome return to mild weather this week as Met Eireann say temperatures are expected to rise over the coming days ahead.

In their latest five day weather outlook, the national forecaster have confirmed that temperatures are expected to reach the high teens to the low twenties later in the week.

The welcome change in weather which follows recent stormy conditions comes as a high pressure is set to sweep across Ireland and the UK.

Although some light showers are expected particularly on Tuesday and Thursday, Met Eireann say this week will be largely dry and relatively warm.

It is expected that Wednesday will see the best of the weather with temperatures maxing out between 17-21C, but Thursday could also see highs of 19C.

Met Eireann say it will become cooler heading into the weekend but it is expected to remain above the seasonal average as Ireland will bask in what is known as an Indian summer.

Temperatures however will dip significantly overnight with chilly spells expected as lows between 2-7C are expected throughout the week.
