Kerrie Finucane from Kilmihil, Co Clare has taken to Facebook to warn the public after three “tanned fellas” tried to abduct her 15-yr-old daughter as she walked to meet her friend at 6:30 PM last week.
In the post, Ms Finucane describes how her daughter was approached by the men in a car with tinted windows who then offered to take her from a drive.
“They said they would bring her for a spin, then bring her home and that they wouldn’t hurt her.” Ms Finucane says in her post.
After turning them down, one of them grabbed the teenager by the wrist and attempted to pull her into the car.
The incident was reported to Gardai and Ms Finucane asked for members of the public to share her post and warn other as “Another child might not be so lucky”.
Her post in its entirety reads
“WARNING … PLEASE SHARE,” she wrote.
“My 15yr old daughter was walking up the Cree / Cahermurphy Rd around half 6 last night to meet her friend …. 3 tanned fellas pulled up beside her in a dark car with tinted windows asked her to get into the car and there bring her for a spin and bring her home and that they wouldn’t hurt her.
“She said NO but then they grabs her wrist and tried pulling her into the car but she Screamed they jumped into the car and drove off … I’ve reported to the guards but need people to SHARE this as another child might not be so lucky.”
People are advised to share this information with their friends to make them aware.
