WhatsApp users have been warned of a new phishing scam that can con users out of hundreds of euro.
The trojan virus has warranted an official warning for the text message company itself.
The online communications company say the harmful “trojan virus” could cost users “hundreds of euros”.
Meanwhile ESET Ireland have issued a statement also warning all users to be careful of the phishing email.
According to both ESET and Whatsapp the email claims a user has a”Missed voicemail” and encourages users to click a link to play the “new voicemessage”.
However once a user clicks the link they will not hear any message mail but instead begin downloading a virus.
