The water crisis continues today, as more heavy rain over the last 24 hours has caused further problems at the aging Leixlip Water Treatment Plant.
It’s understood that the facility cannot cope with heavy, persistent rainfall, despite Ireland being known as a place where heavy and persistent rainfall is a regular occurrence.
Up to 600,000 people are affected by a boil water notice at the moment, barely two weeks after the last one was lifted.
