The water meter/water charges/Irish Water triumvirate of discordia keeps on hitting the headlines day in and day out, providing newsworthy items on a regular basis.

Last Wednesday, the High Court granted the water meter installation company, GMC Sierra, a 20-meter exclusion zone of sorts around any site where workers are carrying out their contentious work.

In essence, what this meant is that members of the public were not allowed to approach the site any closer than this invisible boundary.

This perimeter defence came about after GMC Sierra claimed that its workers were being harassed and intimidated by the public.

But yesterday, the judge recalled all parties involved in the affair and suggested that the wording of the injunction be slightly altered to say that the exclusion zone should not include people going into and coming out of their homes.

There was no objection put forward to this amendment by any of the parties involved.
