We got this – HSE move to ease fears that they can handle a coronavirus outbreak in Ireland




As fears grow that there could be a worldwide widespread outbreak of the coronavirus, and with the first confirmed in the Republic of Ireland, the HSE has moved to reassure the Irish public not to panic that they’re fully loaded with supplies and are ready to go should such an outbreak occur in Ireland.

The HSE say that they’ve adequate stocks in terms of critical supplies all across the country by undertaking early actions.

Paul Reid, CEO of the HSE said for everyone to remain vigilant, be on the lookout but not panic.

Reid said that the HSE have managed to secure a major number of supplies in case a breakout happens in Ireland.

A total of 700,000 gowns, 4 million gloves, 1.7 million masks, 1.5 million surgical masks and 400,000 gloves and face shield protection products have been bought.

It’s also understood that some 12 new ventilation systems have been purchased for acute hospitals.
