GardaĆ­ have renewed their call for information regarding the disappearance and suspected killing of Kyran Durnin, reports Breaking News.

Kyran, who would now be nine years old if alive, was first reported missing in August of last year, with a murder inquiry officially launched in October.

Investigators suspect he may have died at the age of six, after it was revealed he had not been seen since May 2022 while attending a primary school in Dundalk, reports Breaking News.

According to a Garda spokesperson, ā€œdespite extensive and ongoing enquiriesā€ officers have not been able to trace Kyran or establish what occurred.

The spokesperson stated: ā€œTo date, there have been in excess of 570 separate investigative actions taken. Two persons (a woman and a man) have to date been arrested on suspicion of murder,ā€ reports Breaking News.

Three domestic residences and adjoining lands have also been searched which included excavation works as well as a full forensic examination of each scene.

ā€œA number of electronic devices have been seized and analysed,ā€ reports Breaking News.

The spokesperson confirmed that more than 29,500 hours of CCTV footage have been obtained and reviewed from various locations, and that GardaĆ­ continue to work closely with Tusla, reports Breaking News.

The statement added: ā€œThe investigation team, led by a Senior Investigation Officer (SIO) based in an incident room established at Drogheda Garda Station continue to appeal to the public for any information in connection the disappearance of Kyran. An Garda Siochana is aware of the extensive public commentary on this investigation including speculation, rumours and theories on what may have happened to Kyran. An Garda Siochana continue to appeal to the public, notwithstanding all the information that is in the public domain, to not assume that the investigation team know the information that you may have. Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, will be welcomed by the investigation team. This information will be treated in the strictest confidence,ā€ reports Breaking News.
