
Following the loss of Graham Dwyer’s final attempt to overturn his 2015 conviction for Elaine O’Hara’s murder, the family of the late actress expressed their hope that she can finally rest in peace, reports RTE.
The O’Hara family released a statement stating that it had been nearly 12 years since Elaine passed away.
A murder investigation and a “long, arduous criminal trial, with many challenges to the jury’s verdict over the years” were attributed to the case of a missing individual that had evolved into.
“We are relieved that the Supreme Court has upheld the verdict of the Court of Appeal,” the family said, adding that they hope that Elaine “can now, at last, rest in peace,” reports RTE.
The family expressed gratitude to An Garda SÃochána personnel, including the detectives, the investigative team, and their family liaison officer who they said had supported them along the way. They also expressed gratitude to friends and family for their ongoing support.
