In a touching statement, actor John Travolta has paid tribute to Olivia Newton-John, who has passed away.

Travolta played “Danny” to Ms. Newton-John’s “Sandy” in the film Grease, which went on to become one of the most iconic films ever, with Danny and Sandy singing the now infamous duet “You’re the one that I want”.

Following the death of Ms. Newton-John on Friday, Travolta posted on Instagram, saying:

“My dearest Olivia, you made all of our lives so much better.  Your impact was incredible.  I love you so much.  We will see you down the road and we will all be together again.  Yours from the first moment I saw you and forever!  Your Danny, your John!”

Ms. Newton-John, was 73 when she died, had stayed very friendly with Travolta since Grease was filmed in 1978.  She fought bravely against breast cancer for many years, receiving accolades for her courage and her dedication to research into cancer which led her to set up the Olivia Newton-John Foundation Fund.
