Weather to turn colder as Met Eireann say hail showers and frost is on the way

Ireland has seen its fair share of rain in recent weeks which has left a through autumn feel in the air.

However the weather outlook for the coming days ahead will have more of a wintery feel as hail showers and frosty conditions are expected to arrive later this week.

Although the rain will stay, Met Eireann say colder conditions than normally are expected heading into this weekend.

The national forecaster say that although Wednesday is expected to be mainly a dry affair early on showers are expected to move eastwards later in the day bringing an unsettled night.

The heavy showers which will remain in Thursday are expected to turn wintery as hail is expected in the North and West of the country.

Meanwhile frosty conditions particularly in the Midlands are expected overnight over the weekend.
