Weather update: Met Eireann issues Status Orange weather warning for seven counties as conditions deteriorate significantly




The national forecaster has issued a Status Orange weather warning for high winds covering seven counties.

The warning, affecting counties Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, and Kerry, will kick in at 6am on Monday morning and remain in place until 8pm on Monday evening.

Wind speeds of up to 110 and 130km/h are predicted to lash many areas around those counties throughout the night and well into tomorrow.
