Weather warning: Met Eireann have issued two separate weather warnings as temperature plummet to -5c

Met Eireann have issued two separate weather warnings for Ireland until Friday evening.

A status orange and status yellow warning have been issued for fog and freezing conditions of up to -5c particularly in Leinster.

A Met Eireann forecaster said: “There are fog patches lingering this afternoon in parts of the midlands, north Leinster and south Ulster. We’ll see dense fog over much of the coutnry this evening, overnight and Friday morning.”

A Status Yellow temperature warning has been issued for the whole country – with temperatures plunging to -5C.

Leinster will be the coldest area overnight, with the warning beginning at 6pm today until Friday evening.

Weather experts added: “Severe frost developing this evening and continuing overnight and Friday morning. Lowest temperatures of 0°C to -5°C.
