There’s a weather warning in place this evening and very early tomorrow morning as heavy rainfall is likely to turn to sleet and snow in areas.
A status yellow warning in now in place for these seven counties, Kilkenny, Carlow, Kildare, Laois, Wicklow, Offaly and Tipperary.
It’s understood that the warning is in place until at least 2am Thursday morning but that Met Eireann will review the situation at that time.
Flooding is possible in areas with sleet and snow forecast for parts of Munster and Leinster this evening.
Motorists are advised to take extreme caution when travelling.
