A weather warning is now in effect for eight counties as awful conditions hit the country.
Counties Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny, Carlow, Wicklow, Dublin, Meath, and Louth will see strong winds of up to 100km/h throughout the day.
The warning will be in effect until 6pm.
