Met Éireann was warned of snow and ice on Ireland’s roads. Motorists are advised to take extra care, especially in Donegal, Longford, Westmeath, Monaghan and Connacht.
Rainy showers may turn into sleet later today and there have been some reports of snow. Snow and icy weather hit Britain last night, causing travel disruption.
Drivers should take special care today as visibility will be poor. More cold weather is expected.
