A weather warning is due to come into effect for four counties later today as miserable conditions approach.
The warning, which will cover counties Carlow, Dublin, Kilkenny, Wexford, and Wicklow, will come into effect at 5pm and expire at 4am on Sunday morning.
According to the national forecaster, many areas around these counties will experience very heavy downpours, which may lead to localized flooding.
