Two weather warnings will come into effect later this afternoon ahead of miserable conditions.
The Status Yellow rain warning, which covers counties Carlow, Kilkenny, Laois, Wexford, Wicklow, Munster, and Galway, will come into effect at 3pm and remain in place until 9am on Sunday.
A Status Yellow warning for strong winds will cover Cork, Waterford, Dublin, Louth, Meath, Wexford, and Wicklow, also from 3pm on Saturday until 9am on Sunday.
