“Well if they think it’s not good enough here, they should leave ” – Anger towards migrants who aren’t happy after being dumped in Gormanstown barracks

Sometimes the government push people just a little too far, and it would appear that since February with all that they’re doing for migrants compared to Irish people who need help, is certainly one of those times.

Social media users are saying that if people don’t like it here and think that it’s so bad, that they can take the boat and head off somewhere else or go back to wherever they came from.

They took them in from anywhere and everywhere “in the Ukraine” – or so it seems. No one can know for sure where the thousands of people who’ve flooded into our shores are actually from.

Either way, some of these people aren’t happy with being dumped in a military barracks in Co. Meath where some of them claim it’s as bad as the third world.

A few dozen Ukrainian refugees have been shifted to a tent city in Gormanstown in Co. Meath, where they will stay ‘for a maximum of a week’. It is understood that there will be eight people crammed inside every tent.

It is unclear where they will be moved on to afterwards.

So far, about 43,000 Ukrainian refugees have arrived in Ireland, with more on the way, and no proper accommodation or resources for any of them, so the Government’s plan appears not to be exceedingly clever.
