The Irish-based budget fashion retailer has struck a major US deal with Sears that will see the opening of seven new outlets across the northeastern United States, including one store at the largest shopping mall in the east coast and another one in New York.

Penneys, which trades abroad as Primark, will lease about 520,000 sq ft of retail space from Sears over the next 12-18 months.

As part of the deal, Primark will have a presence within the King of Prussia Mall in the outskirts of Philadelphia, which was for decades the largest shopping mall in the United States until Minnesota’s Mall of America surpassed it. Another flagship Primark store will open in New York’s Staten Island.

The location of the remaining five stores will be revealed at a later date, according to Sears.

Penneys/Primark currently operates over 275 stores across the UK, Ireland, and continental Europe.
