What homeless problem? Government give go ahead to €3 billion broadband plan

It appears that Leo Varadkar and his government have their priorities right – they’ve just given the go ahead for a €3 billion broadband contract.

There’s officially 10,397 Irish people homeless in Ireland at the moment with unofficial figures reportedly even higher.

Forget that though, the Government has approved the budget and contract for the rollout of the much-debated National Broadband Plan.

The €3bn plan aims to bring high-speed internet access to remote and rural areas where service is currently poor or non-existent.

But don’t hold your breath to get connected fast, as it may be seven years before the rollout is complete.
