Gardai arrested two men after a squad car was rammed in Limerick city overnight.
It is understood that the incident began as Gardai attempted to stop a vehicle in the car park of the Crescent Shopping Centre, in the Dooradoyle area. The car sped off with gardai in pursuit.
The chase came to an end shortly afterwards, after the squad car was rammed. The perpetrators fled on foot but were quickly apprehended. A knife and around €1,500 worth of cannabis were seized.
Two officers inside the gardai car were taken to hospital as a precaution.
