WhatsApp releases new feature that allows users to share polls in chats

Irish WhatsApp users may have noticed an exciting new feature in their chats this week.

The instant messaging application launched WhatsApp Polls, which allows users to create and vote on polls in chats.

The new feature works in both individual and group chats and will make it easier and faster for users to make decisions with their friends.

To access the chat poll feature, open a chat on WhatsApp and click the “plus” or “paperclip” icon in the WhatsApp message box.

The option to create a poll now appears along with options to share a document, contact, or your location, access your camera or photo library, and send an audio file.

When you click on the “Poll” option, you are asked to submit a main question with up to 12 different possible choices as answers.

Once the poll has been sent to the group, users can select their preferred response. Users can select multiple options in a survey and easily change the answer by deselecting the option.

Poll votes are visible to the entire group chat.

WhatsApp is estimated to have more than two billion active users worldwide.

The messaging app, owned by Meta and Mark Zuckerberg, is one of the most popular in the country, allowing people to keep in touch with friends, family, sports clubs and other social groups.

The company recently began testing group sizes of up to 1024 people and has been testing a new feature that instantly mutes very large groups when you join them to make them less irritating to users.
