This article’s intent isn’t to boost anyone or any party, as they all have their flaws, but its intent is solely to remind you that Micheal Martin’s party practically ruined this country when he and his cohorts were last in power.
Martin has had four Ministerial positions over his 30-year-long career as a politician yet all he can spout about is the smoking ban.
What people need to really know is the fact that some 320,000 people lost their jobs by 2011 after Fianna Fail left the country in such a state that Ireland was just one of three countries in the EU where the IMF was forced to come in and help straighten things out.
Those years of torture and hardship will not be forgotten and should never be forgotten.
When Martin left office in 2011 the country had a horrendous figure of 16% unemployment – how many of these people were forced to emigrate as a result, missing their loved ones’ birthdays, marriages, funerals and births. Tragically suicide soared during the recession too with.
People need to remember this when they go the polls on Election Day. Fianna Fail practically ruined Ireland and now they want the reigns again – not on my watch, Micheal!
