President Trump will not attend the annual St Patrick’s Day lunch on Capitol Hill it has been revealed.
In a statement the White House confirmed that President Trump will not attend the event which will be hosted by speaker of the house Nancy Pelosi.
It is believed that President Trump decided to skip the lunch as tensions between him and Pelosi have increased in the last few weeks.
The pair have been at loggerheads since last month’s State of the Union address last month.
The address caused widespread controversy after Trump refused to shake Pelosi’s hand after being found not guilty during his impeachment enquiry.
The incident also saw Pelosi rip up a copy of the President’s Speech.
